If you come across a smart and knowledgeable person, the common assumption would be that they read a lot of books and our ‘nerds’. But if you think deeply about this, humanity has learnt any and everything from trying things and then documenting it. Essentially, the source of knowledge has always been other people. Books, articles, research papers, movies and podcasts are just ways of documenting or telling what a person wants to convey with it. In today’s world consumption of knowledge can be done in literally any form other than just reading books, you can become part of like-minded communities on Reddit and read valuable content on writing platforms like Twitter & Threads, you can listen to some great podcasts and audiobooks on Spotify & YouTube.
Instagram has a monthly active user base of more than 1 Billion+ people, we are all guilty of scrolling short-form content once in a while during the day, so I thought that we can leverage this scrolling habit to learn something new in one minute which is why I started, ‘Stay Curious’. The purpose of my Encyclopedia series is to make my audience curious about everything around them. If we question things around us and think deeply, we would have way more perspectives which would make us clear thinkers, leading to a society which strives to learn and evolve like no other.
In order to achieve greatness in today’s world curiosity & positive obsession are all you need. If you couple them with great feedback loops, you would be unstoppable. People who are knowledgeable and smart, always listen to what other people have to offer, are always open to new ideas, perceptions and are open to unlearning what they know. Throughout History, this is the only time when there are tools in abundance, which can support infrastructure in any field, imagine what our ancestors have achieved with such little resources by just sitting with the problems and thinking deeply.
